KitchenAid KPRA Pasta Roller Attachment for Stand Mixers Review

I must admit that I purchased this item with a bit of trepidation after reading the reviews. But what point is owning a KitchenAid mixer if you’re not going to take advantage of the attachments? I tried them for the first time today and they worked great! Clearly KitchenAid has resolved the cleanliness issue mentioned by some, and I had no trouble with the recipe or the cutting attachments. I used Hodgson Mill pasta flour which appears to be half flour, half semolina. I did learn two things (1) it’s best to cut the rolled pasta in half to reduce the length of the finished noodles and keep them uniform, and (2) you really do need to sprinkle the rolled pasta with flour to keep the sheets from sticking and to get a great cut. I’m going to assume that the attachments will hold up as well as my mixer, so I would recommend this item to anyone.
